Native iOS RSS & Atom reader

Your news, in chronological order.

ChronoFeed is a clean, distraction-free feed reader for people who value their time. Add your favourite sources, set a refresh interval, and read the stories that matter — no algorithms, no ads, no noise.

iOS 26.5 and later · Built by inkaDesign Studio

ChronoFeed feed tab showing a chronological list of articles with source names, reading time, and thumbnails.

Chronological, not curated

Stories appear in the order they were published. Newest or oldest first is your choice — never a ranking you cannot see.

Private by design

Feeds and articles stay on your device. Favicons load from each site’s own domain. There is no account and nothing to track.

Yours to take with you

Import and export OPML, including folders. Move your sources to Reeder, NetNewsWire, Feedly, or another copy of ChronoFeed.

Built for focused reading

Three tabs cover the whole app: Feed, Sources, and Settings. Everything else is a short tap away.

A polished news feed

Search, filter by All, Unread, Today, This Week, or Saved, and scan headlines with source names, reading time, and thumbnails.

Gestures that stay out of the way

Swipe left to mark read or unread. Swipe right to save. Long-press to share, copy the link, or change the read state.

Read in-app or in Safari

Open stories in a dark in-app browser, or switch on Open in Safari for Reader Mode and your extensions.

ChronoFeed About screen with the app icon, tagline, and feature cards.

Sources you control

Paste a feed URL or a website. ChronoFeed discovers RSS and Atom feeds, groups them into categories, and lets you pause or rename any source.

Refresh on your schedule

Pull to refresh, pick an interval from 15 minutes to 24 hours, or fetch in the background. Quiet Hours keep banners silent overnight.

Help when you need it

A searchable User Guide, What’s New cards, Statistics, and first-launch onboarding with starter feeds for Tech, News, and more.

Every option, in plain language

Nothing is hidden behind jargon. Here is what each control does, grouped the same way the app is grouped.

Feed

  • Search articles

Type in the search bar to find a headline across every source you follow.

  • All

Show the full chronological list of articles stored on your iPhone.

  • Unread

Hide stories you have already opened so you can catch up faster.

  • Today

Limit the list to articles published today.

  • This Week

Show articles from the last seven days.

  • Saved

Open only the articles you bookmarked for later.

  • Sort order

Switch between newest first (green arrow) and oldest first (orange arrow).

  • Pull to refresh

Drag the list down to fetch new items from every active source right now.

  • Thumbnails

When a feed includes an image, it appears beside the headline.

  • Reading time

Each story shows an estimated “N min read” next to how long ago it was published.

  • Unread bar

A green bar on the card marks articles you have not read yet.

  • Open an article

Tap a story to mark it read and open it in the in-app browser, or in Safari if you turned that on.

  • Swipe left

Mark the article read or unread. A full swipe completes the action immediately.

  • Swipe right

Save the article, or remove it from Saved.

  • Long-press menu

Mark read or unread, save, share, or copy the link without leaving the list.

  • Mark all read

When Unread is selected, a checkmark in the toolbar marks every visible article — including search results.

  • Unread badge

The Feed tab icon shows how many unread articles you have. It clears when the count reaches zero.

Sources

  • Add a source

Tap + and paste a feed URL or a website such as bbc.com.

  • Feed auto-discovery

ChronoFeed checks the URL, scans the page for RSS or Atom links, then tries common paths like /feed and /rss.xml. If several feeds are found, you pick one.

  • Search sources

Filter the list by source name or URL. Matching results appear in a flat list.

  • Categories

Group sources into folders you name. Uncategorized sources stay in their own section.

  • Rename

Swipe a source right and tap Rename to give it a title you will recognise.

  • Assign a category

Swipe right and tap Category to move the source, create a folder, or delete a folder (sources are kept).

  • Pause or resume

Pause a noisy source so it is skipped on refresh. Resume it when you want updates again.

  • Per-source notifications

Tap the bell to mute banners for that source. Muted sources still refresh; they just stay quiet.

  • Source articles

Tap a source to read only its stories, with the same filters, refresh, and gestures as the main feed.

  • Favicons

Each source shows its site icon, loaded from that site — not from a third-party tracker.

  • OPML export

Share or back up your sources, including folders, in the format other RSS readers understand.

  • OPML import

Bring in a list from another app. ChronoFeed recreates folders by name and skips duplicates.

Settings

  • Auto-refresh interval

Choose Manual only, or every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours.

  • Auto-clean old articles

Keep articles forever, or delete unread ones after 7, 14, 30, or 90 days. Saved articles are never deleted.

  • Open in Safari

Off (default) uses the in-app browser. On opens the story in Safari so you can use Reader Mode and extensions.

  • Mark as Read on Scroll

Optional. After a short delay, articles you scroll past are marked read automatically.

  • Article font size

Slide between XS, Small, Default, Large, XL, 2XL, and 3XL. Headlines, summaries, and metadata all scale together.

  • Quiet Hours

Turn on a start and end hour (default 22:00–08:00). Banners stay silent in that window; the badge still updates.

  • Statistics

See totals for sources, categories, articles, read percentage, saved items, images, averages, and the refresh timeline.

  • What’s New

Read the changelog as version cards, with the latest release marked NEW.

  • User Guide

Search more than 40 topics across Getting Started, reading, saving, sources, categories, notifications, settings, and tips.

  • About the App

See the logo, tagline, feature summary, and version information.

  • Mark all as read

Clear every unread article in one action from Settings.

  • Clear all articles

Remove stored articles while keeping your sources. Use this when you want a fresh list.

  • Background refresh

When iOS allows it, ChronoFeed fetches new stories in the background and can show a badge and a notification.

  • Onboarding

The first launch walks through welcome, features, and optional starter feeds for Tech, Crypto, Fashion, World News, and Developers.

App screenshots

FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask before they subscribe to another reader.

What can I do with ChronoFeed?

Subscribe to RSS 2.0, Atom 1.0, and RDF RSS 1.0 feeds. Read them in one chronological list, save stories, organise sources into categories, and take your list with you as OPML.

Does ChronoFeed need an account?

No. Everything is stored on your iPhone with SwiftData. There is no sign-in, no cloud sync account, and no advertising profile.

Which devices does it support?

ChronoFeed is an iOS app for iPhone, targeting iOS 26.5 and later. An iPad split-view layout is not included yet.

Will I get notifications?

Yes, if you allow them. Background refresh can show a banner and a sound when new articles arrive, grouped in Notification Center. Quiet Hours and per-source mute keep that under control. The home-screen badge still updates during Quiet Hours.

Can I bring feeds from another reader?

Yes. Export OPML from Reeder, NetNewsWire, Feedly, or a similar app and import it in Sources. Folders become ChronoFeed categories.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ChronoFeed ("the App"), developed and operated by inkaDesign Studio, handles information when you use the ChronoFeed iOS application.

We designed ChronoFeed as a personal feed reader with privacy in mind. ChronoFeed does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not send your personal data to us or to third parties.

1. Information We Collect

ChronoFeed does not collect or store personal information about you.

The App does not require you to create an account or provide information such as:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Password
  • Home address
  • Date of birth
  • Payment information
  • Location data
  • Contacts
  • Photos or other personal files

ChronoFeed does not maintain a user database or user profile.

2. Internet Access

ChronoFeed requires Internet access to retrieve news and other content from the RSS feeds or other feed sources configured or selected by the user.

The App uses the Internet connection solely for retrieving and displaying feed content.

When ChronoFeed connects to a feed or website, that connection is made to the relevant third-party server. Those servers may receive standard technical information associated with an Internet request, such as an IP address, as part of normal Internet communication.

ChronoFeed does not control how third-party websites or feed providers process information received through their servers. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the websites and services whose feeds you access through ChronoFeed.

3. No User Accounts

ChronoFeed does not require registration or login.

There is no ChronoFeed account associated with your use of the App, and we do not collect credentials or authentication information from users.

4. Data Stored on Your Device

ChronoFeed may store certain application data locally on your iPhone or other Apple device in order to provide its functionality.

This may include information such as:

  • Feed subscriptions or feed URLs
  • App preferences and settings
  • Reading status or other feed-related preferences
  • Cached news or feed content

This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted by ChronoFeed to us.

5. Analytics and Tracking

ChronoFeed does not use third-party advertising trackers or behavioral tracking technologies.

We do not use your personal information for advertising, profiling, or targeted marketing.

ChronoFeed does not send usage information, reading history, subscribed feeds, or other personal data to our servers.

6. Advertising

ChronoFeed does not use advertising networks that require us to share your personal information.

We do not sell or rent user information to advertisers or other companies.

7. Third-Party Websites and Feed Providers

ChronoFeed may display content obtained from third-party RSS feeds, websites, or other online sources.

When retrieving such content, your device communicates directly with the relevant third-party servers. These third parties operate independently from ChronoFeed and may collect technical information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

ChronoFeed is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or data handling practices of third-party websites or feed providers.

8. Children's Privacy

ChronoFeed does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other users.

Because the App does not require an account and does not collect personal information, there is no age-based personal information collection by ChronoFeed.

9. Data Security

Because ChronoFeed does not collect or transmit personal information to our servers, we do not maintain a database of ChronoFeed users' personal information.

Information stored locally by the App remains subject to the security of the user's Apple device and operating system.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties because ChronoFeed does not collect personal information for these purposes.

The App may connect to third-party feed providers and websites when retrieving content requested by the user. Such connections are necessary for the core functionality of the App.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information under applicable privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information.

Because ChronoFeed does not collect personal information on our servers or maintain user accounts, there is generally no personal information held by us that can be accessed, corrected, or deleted.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to ChronoFeed, applicable laws, or our privacy practices.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
